Abstract:

CoTiO3-clay nano-composites were synthesized via a conventional sol-gel method; the gel was calcinated at 500 - 800°C for 2 hours. The presence of rhombohedra phase of CoTiO3 in clay matrix was confirmed by XRD, FTIR, SEM. Cobalt titanate-clay nano-composites were prepared with 5-20%(w/w) by sol-gel method. The spectra results were investigated at 20% (w/w) concentration .The optimum condition for nano-composite preparation in 20 %( w/w) at 600°C is obtained.

Synthesis and Characterizations of Silica Nanoparticles by a New Sol-Gel Method

Silica nanoparticles were synthesized by chemical methods from tetraethylorthosilicate (TEOS), polyethylene glycol 5% and hydrochloric acid 0.001 N. The sol-gel process was applied for the preparation of nano silica gel. This method is hydrolysis and condensation reactions of TEOS as precursor of silica. The optimal synthesis conditions for the preparation of silica nanoparticles were obtained ...

Synthesis of zirconium carbide nanoparticles by sol-gel method and determination of powder characteristics

In this study, zirconium carbide nanoparticles were synthesized by the sol-gel method in the alcoholic system. The sol was prepared in a three-component alkoxide-water-alcohol system based on the chemical sol-gel process under acidic conditions and at pH = 5. Zirconium n-propoxide, furfuryl alcohol were used as raw materials. After the hydrolysis process and formation of the gel, the initial po...

Synthesis and characterization of the Pt/SiO2 nanocomposite by the sol-gel method

The silica supported platinum nanoparticles was synthesized by using the sol-gel method. The possibility of using diamminedinitro platinum (II) as Pt precursor and effect of metal precursor concentration on the final Pt nanoparticle size was investigated. A stable silica sol was prepared via hydrolysis of tetraethyl orthosilicate (TEOS) as a metal alcoxide and condensation reaction. Subsequentl...
